Many people have tried to predict the time of Jesus' 2nd Coming with nothing but disastrous results. They have predicted many dates that have all come and gone and have done nothing but created an atmosphere of mistrust of Christians among believers and non-believers alike. These false teachers have even led many well-meaning but yet deceived followers to economical and personal shipwreck on the rocks of ignorance. Some of these folks were so deceived as to even commit suicide in hopes of being raptured or rewarded for their misguided faith.
Some examples of false dates from history include: in 500 AD church father Hippolytus predicted the world's end based on Noah's Ark dimensions; in 1501 AD Christopher Columbus predicted just another 155 years; in 1835 AD Joseph Smith predicted the Rapture would be in 56 years; in 1818 William Miller, founder of the Millerite movement, predicted the end between 1843 and 1844; in 1926 Oswald J. Smith wrote that the Battle of Armageddon would take place before the year 1933; in 1970's Hal Lindsey predicted the end of the age to be 1988; in 1978 Chuch Smith predicted in 1981; in 1993 Harold Camping predicted the end of the world In September 1994. And the list goes on and on .... (Read More)
So why am I addressing the year of the Lord's return? Well first let me be clear: I am in no way predicting a date for this Great Event. I would be very foolish to try and make such an outrageous prophesy. I know the warnings of scripture which I will now expound on:
What the Bible Warns:
Matthew 24:36 - Don't be an arrogant know it all!
"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only."
Here Jesus is warning us that the date is HIDDEN in the knowledge of God Only! No man, no angel, not even Satan himself; who will posses the man that will be the Antichrist; knows what day Jesus will return for His Church (The Rapture).
Matthew 24:23-25 - Don't be deceived!
"Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before."
Jesus told us there would be many, many false teachers making such predictions. He even clarifies the fact by saying in effect, "I told you so" in His closing phrase, "Behold, I have told you before [-hand]".
An interesting fact hidden in this reference is His statement that these false teachers would even try to deceive the "very elect" (true believers in Him). But notice the clause, "if it were possible". The fact is that Jesus Himself says that true believers in Him can not be deceived by these lies and false predictions. Why? Because "TRUE" believers have His Spirit living in them and "He (the Holy Spirit) will guide you into all truth" (John 16:13)
1 Thessalonians 5:2 - Don't underestimate the sneakiness!
"For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night."
Paul warns us that the Day of the Lord (The Rapture) comes as a thief. A thief always sneaks in to steal when you are totally unsuspecting him. No thief rings a door bell to announce his plans to rob you at such and such a time on such and such a date!
Many false teachers today try and apply this verse to the nation of Israel, but if you read the verse in it's context, He is talking to His deciples, the (future) Fathers of the Church, not the Israel as a nation.
1 Thessalonians 5:3 - Be on your guard!
"For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape."
Paul clarifies though that this sneakiness is first and foremost to the lost world. Again this is in keeping within the context that TRUE Christians have the Holy Spirit in them who "leads us into all truth" (John 16:13). Paul understood that there are facts about the time of The Rapture that we can and should know! Revelations tell us to "Watch" for the signs. Jesus Himself went into great detail about this event and it's timing which we will now look at. When the world says "Peace" & "Safety", we should be prepared!
What We Can Know About Jesus's Return?
The Bible is clear about what we, as Christians, can and should know about the time of The Rapture! We are told by Jesus, Paul and Revelations that we should be ready. They tell us that we should never lose hope or suffer despair. In fact, Jesus spent much time expounding on this teaching so we CAN know some things that He WANTS us to know about His Return. He spent more time on this teaching then on any other teaching He gave while here on earth; an entire two chapters: Mathew 24 & 25!
The Command of these verses is repeated twice. Mathew 24:42; "Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come" and Mathew 25:13; "Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of Man cometh." The command of Jesus is to WATCH! There is no other way to be ready than to watch with a keen awareness to what is happening in the world! (Read Mathew 24 & 25)
John also explains why watching is important for our souls: .
OK, now to the main these of this blog There are splashed across the pages of the Bible certain facts that fit together to make the time of The Rapture very clear to TRUE Christians. These facts can also be revealed to lost people if they are presented in a clear, logical and spiritually sound presentation. It is my goal to do just that with the help and guidance of God's Holy Spirit... as all truth comes from God, not man. Let's look at some references from the Bible that explain dates and times as they relate to understanding the events in God's Timeline.
Psalm 90:10 - What is a generation?
The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
Here the Psalmist in the Bible is revealing what constitutes a generation in the lifespan of man. A generation is 70 years (3*20[a score] +10). A strong, healthy person may live to around 80 or so but the average lifespan according to the Bible is 70 years. Actually, a lifespan in the beginning of the human race averaged 912 years. God shortened the lifespan of mankind twice. First, in Genesis 6:3, He shortened it to 120 years then here, in psalms 90, He shortened it to 70 years. This is important for us to know as Jesus gives us a "sign" that marks the starting point of The Last Generation! See Mankind's Timeline to the Flood" for some interesting facts that deal with the Rapture and the Tribulation.
Mathew 24:32-35 - Jesus' key to the Last Generation
"Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away."
Jesus gives three conditions that MUST be met before He returns again to reclaim this planet as is own. We will look at each of these in the order He lays them out in this all important text. They deal with two groups of peoples and a related unchangeable principle. First we will evaluate His KEY to understanding dates & times as they relate to The Rapture of the Church and His 2nd Coming 7 years later:
1. The Parable of the Fig Tree Interestingly, Jesus interrupts His extensive discourse about the Signs of the Last Days to interject this all important parable! Jesus always used parables to make profoundly difficult principles simple and easy to understand to His audience. And here is NO exception! His audience at this sermon is primarily His (Jewish) disciples which gathered on the Mount of olives to hear Him speak about the acts of the promised Messiah of the Old Testament who was to come and set up God's Kingdom on Earth. They suspected that Jesus was most likely this Chosen One of Israel but they were not fully persuaded at this point and would not be sure till after His Crucifixion and Resurrection on Easter Morning! Jesus breaks from His list of "Signs" to address their lack of understanding by referencing "The Fig Tree". They knew well what the fig tree represented; the nation of Israel!
"I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time." (Hosea 9:10)
The Fig Tree represents Israel as God's provision for sin from it's origin back in the early life of the nation; "I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time (beginning)". There are actually 40 references to the fig tree in the Bible. The Old Testament has 17 references and either tired directly to Israel or indirectly via God's plan of redemption from sin through Israel.
The Revived Fig Tree (Israel) Joel had prophesied that at the time of Jesus birth, Israel would be in a pitiful state: "The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languished" (Joel 1:12). And Jesus Himself prophesied that it would get much worst for Israel in His sermon. He stated that in regard to the Temple of Solomon about which the disciples bragged, that "There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down" (Mathew 24:2). But here in our text Jesus says that in the last days, in the midst of an abundance of Last Days Signs, Israel would again blossom! "When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh" (Mathew 24:32). This prophesy was fulfilled on 14 May 1948 when Israel became a nation again and regained their Holy Land!
Another interesting fact about Israel has to do with their Jubilee years. Every 50 years, Israel celebrate a special year of rejoicing. It is a religious holiday / year in which they do not havest any crops but live off the bounty God provided in previous years!
"And you shall count seven sabbaths of years for yourself, seven times seven years; and the time of the seven sabbaths of years shall be to you forty-nine years. Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement you shall make the trumpet to sound throughout all your land." (Leviticus 25:8-9)
"Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement you shall make the trumpet to sound throughout all your land. And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you shall return to his family. That fiftieth year shall be a Jubilee to you; in it you shall neither sow nor reap what grows of its own accord, nor gather the grapes of your untended vine. For it is the Jubilee; it shall be holy to you; you shall eat its produce from the field. In this Year of Jubilee, each of you shall return to his possession." (Leviticus 25:9-13)
When Israel got their homeland back in 1917, with the help of England, they celebrated their long overdue (1900+ years) Jubilee year! Their next one fell in the year 1967 (50 years later) which is the year of the infamous Six Day War when they captured their former capital, Jerusalem from the Arabs (6/6/67)! Their next Jubilee year is the year 2017! It also marks their 70th Jubilee year since the system was inaugurated by God! What better year for their Messiah to come (return) then on their 70th Jubilee year? that would be exactly 3,500 years after it was established! The Bible numbers work out great as that is a lot of 7*7's plus 1's to make 50s! As you may already know, 7 in the Bible is the number of completion and/or perfection! AND, if you subtract the 7 years of tribulation from this Jubilee year (2017), you come out with a starting date of 2010! The trumpet that sounds the beginning of the tribulation period in the book of Revelation, is also the trumpet that sounds at The Rapture!
2. All Go for Launch When NASA prepares to launch a new rocket or shuttle, they perform a systems test of EVERY component by asking each department head to give the 'all clear' command during the countdown process. They signify that each component is functioning and responding to commands correctly by verbaly declaring a 'GO' status. If any system fails, they cancel the launch! Jesus here encourages us to follow this same wise approach as He states, "So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors" (Mathew 24:33). The lack of all the requirements, happening simultaneously, is what led to so many false predictions through the centuries as to Jesus' Return. Jesus makes it clear that the first and most important SIGN was the revision of the nation of Israel. After all, how could Jesus rule the world on the thrown of David if there was no Israel, no temple, no synagogue, no throne?
Jesus says ALL signs must happen simultaneously to start the Countdown to Armageddon! First and foremost, the revision of Israel! Secondly all the signs must be occurring together in a single generation, not sporadically across many centuries: "And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet" (Mathew 24:6). All the signs must be happening during the same generation and behold they are and have been since 1948 when the last generation began. We have already seen that according to the Psalmist, a generation is 70 years as determined by God!
3. The Last Generation Oath of Jesus Jesus says "Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." (Mathew 24:34). This Generation that started when God's Fig Tree Israel became a nation in 1948 would last 70 years till 2018 and would NOT pass away till all was fulfilled! He goes on to swear to this fact by swearing against the very Nature of God Himself: "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away" (Mathew 24:34)! This had profound meaning to His disciples because they knew what such a promise of God, relating to Israel meant:
"For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he swear by himself, Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee." (Hebrews 6:13-14)
Jesus Swore He would return before that last generation would "pass away":
The Last Generation Began on May 14, 1948 when Israel Became a nation
The Last Generation Ends in 2018 when the lifespan of a Biblical Generation Ends - 70 years
The Rapture occurs 7 years before Jesus Returns to earth no later than May 14, 2011.
The Tribulation and the Antichrist Rule the last 7 years as spoken by Daniel and Jesus says to trust Daniel's prophecies: "When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand)" (Matthew 24:15)
Daniel says 1 week (of years) is reserved for the Tribulation and Antichrist: "And he [The Antichrist] shall confirm the covenant with many for one week [week of years in context so 7 years] and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate." (Daniel 9:27)
In Closing, we have seen that the last generation will expire on the date May 14, 2018 as that will be the end of the 70 year lifespan of a generation as defined by God's Word (the Bible). So as a result, we are now going into the 62'd year of that Generation in 2010. But there is one last verse to consider before assuming that we have over 1 year left for the Rapture of the church to occur:
"And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elects sake [Israel] those days shall be shortened." (Mathew 24:22)
2010 - The Year of Destiny! - R U Ready? If the Return of Christ does not occur till the last few days before May 14, 2018, Jesus says no one would survive. This causes problems as Israel would be wiped out. Jesus would have no throne in Israel to rule from and there would be no one left to rule! So Jesus comes BEFORE it gets that bad! So lets say He comes just 5 months earlier, Dec 14, 1017. Then subtract 7 years for the tribulation period and Lo & Behold, The Rapture would come on Dec 14, 2010! However, He can come anytime between now and then as we do not know how much He will "Shorten" the days! Hence: "No Man Knows the Day or the Hour!" (Matthew 24:36). But Jesus tells us we CAN KNOW the season and He COMMANDS us to "WATCH" (i.e. Be Ready)!
2010 - The Year of Destiny! - R U Ready?
About the Prophet Daniel I will be writing a blog in the near future about the Prophet Daniel and his prophecies that relate to the 2nd Coming of Christ so keep your eyes pealed... Daniel was the prophet that give Israel (and us) the most definitive information about the Last Days, the Antichrist and the Return of Jesus. His visions from God were sealed up as they did not apply to him or his days but rather to ours: "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased" (Daniel 12:4). The KEY to the Book of Daniel is the Book of Revelation: "And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand" (Revelation 22:10). It is only by combining the books Daniel & Revelation can you make sense out of either book or unlock these all important prophesies!
Footnote: I started writing this blog last night, New Years Eve, and finished it New Years Day 2010. While taken my break for the evening, I noticed we had a 2nd Full Moon on New Years Eve called a Blue Moon. While this happens occasionally (every 2 to 3 years), it is more than ironic to me to see a "Sign in the Sky" on the very Eve of this all important year! ;)
We are being
warned! God is showing us what His purpose for this
world entails. As we get closer and closer to the end,
the world has become more and more sinful! And
unfortunately, this condition will worsen till He
returns and redeems us from ourselves. Don't let sin,
self or Satan who has invaded our planet separate you
from the free gift of salvation that Jesus extends to
you in His invitation to be born-again:
For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not
perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send
His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that
the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes
in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe
is condemned already, because he has not believed in
the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:16-18)
Are You Ready? If not get ready, "Repent
for the Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand"!

I really enjoyed your blog on 2010 being the possible year for the Rapture. I have been watching and waiting for 27 yrs now and have tried to avoid even hinting at anything close to pointing at a possible year for this fulfillment, but I can't fight what I am seeing. I hope we are not being set up for a big let down. Many men I trust are saying the same thing you are. Jack Kelley of Grace thru Faith fills it will happen by 2011. I don't know how you do fill about Chuck Smith or Hal Lindsey, yes they goofed, but they in my opinion are still some of the most knowledgeable men on the subject and they to are in agreement on this. Bill Salus author of "Isralestine" says almost the same thing you have and goes into great depth on this.
Like I said I hope we are not disappointed. I am so ready to go home. This world is growing more and more evil each day. The Church is growing apostate at a rate I would not have ever thought possible. I am not looking for signs, but listening for a trumpet to blast. Keep up the good work and God bless.
Sorry guys, I cannot go along with this idea of the rapture happening this year.
Most of us are aware that Jesus is coming back and based on what we see all around us know that this will be VERY SOON, I agree.
But we can see in more than one place in Matthew 24 that God's people will need to flee and 'no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.' Why would we need to flee if God has already raptured us (taken us away)? And again, why would God need to shorten 'those days' if His people were already in Heaven?
We can also see that His coming (the Rapture of God's people) will not be a secret because Jesus goes on. He said in Matthew 24:27, "For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man."
Revelation 1:7 says, "Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, ..."
Based on my years of Bible study there will be no such thing as a SECRET rapture. ---------------------- Unknown Prophet's Response: LineMan, You are confusing the Rapture with the Second Coming of Jesus. They happen 7 years apart! The Rapture comes as a "thief in the night". The Second Coming occures 7 years later and will be visible by all as your refs to Matthew 24:27: "For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man" and Revelation 1:7 "Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him" declares. At the Rapture He does not come down to the planet but rather we meet Him in the clouds: "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words." (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18).
If the Rapture happened at the Second Coming, then you have 2 problems here:
1. Why meet Jesus in the air and come back to earth instantaneously? God is not the author of confusion and that would be. We would go and return so fast, the world would not even know we left in the first place!
2. Paul tells us to "comfort one another with these words (The Rapture)." How stupid it would be to tell brothers and sisters who are suffering to "Cheer Up, things are getting much worst! We get to suffer through the tribulation before we are redeemed from this world!".
The tribulation is God's wrath poured out on this world and since Paul already told us: "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 5:9)". And also Paul said: "Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience (Ephesians 5:6)"!
As for those that need to flee, they are the Jews left on the earth after the Rapture, which are chosen by God to be the new nation of Israel that rules the world with Jesus. Notice the verse in context: "Then let them which be in Judea (Israel) flee into the mountains: (Matthew 24:16)". These are the 144,000 chosen and sealed descendants of Abraham: "(the destruction angels are told to) Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel (Revelation 7:3-4)". See also Revelation 12:1-6 which deals with the nation of Israel at the birth of Christ and during the Tribulation.
Love this stuff! 2010 sounds good to me. I know it's soon because of all the spiritual tension in the air. I mean every day feels like a battle with darkness. I am so excited that I am living in these days. We could have been stuck 500 years ago or something like that - but no, we are at the edge of it all.
I think the real clue is determining the length of a bible generation (40,70,100 ?) It is no doubt that 1947/8 is the beginning of that last generation. All the signs are here - too much evidence and signs poiont to now. With Obama in the most powerful seat in the house, he's perfect for the trib time. Iran, European union, China, the internet, technology, theory of evolution, and of course all the scoffers regarding the return of Jesus - it's all here! To me, every day is a very high possibility.
I'm now starting to pray that the lord returns this year. All things are possible.

My friend, you do know that Christ Jesus shall return in 2018. Herein are the timeline and events unto the things to come as theelects.org
Hi Guys, you can follow me on ItCouldBeToday on Twitter. I cannot bring myself to put a date on the Rapture, but I have an urgency in my blood that tells me it is really close. I do agree that the Lord wants Christians to be ready and watchful, and it is clear that the Church is drifting into a state of apostasy, where they not only seem to be dodging any idea of the soon return of our Lord, but they are almost in denial. But then I do believe the scriptures on the Ten Virgins is fitting to the situation we have here today. Some will be ready and some not. There is a blessing on those who are ready, so I choose to be ready. I eagerly follow world events and there is no doubt that the rapture is knocking on our doors. If you are expecting it to happen in Dec, you may be disappointed, if it happens a little later. But at the same time, I believe you may even be caught unaware if it happens much sooner, Maybe even today. God Bless you for loving our Lord, and being excited about His soon return. Follow me on Twitter, you may even like some of what you see.
Our number one purpose in life is to be "fishers of men". You are on the right path. Keep up the wood work!!

Five years ago, I saw myself in Heaven with Jesus standing to my right, watching the living cosmically rising to Heaven. It was a beautiful vision. We do not know the hour, the day or when Jesus is coming; only the Heavenly Father knows. I do feel the end is very near, but we are not to despair. God loves all of us, and he gave us the most wonderful gift, Jesus Christ.
My mission in life is to share the beautiful dream I had five years ago to help restore people's faith in Jesus, and to live a Christian life and love all of God's creatures.
May God bless the whole world!

Greetings Paul and Everyone here in the name of Yeshua,
I enjoyed this comprehensive article and it certainly seems that many are eagerly anticipating this great event - including myself!
I've recently completed a video project spanning 3H 45M covering this topic in great length, and in the light of recent discoveries, it seems 1 Thess. 5 is now true more than ever. ("But ye brethren are not in darkness that this day should overtake you as a thief in the night")
It is true that no man knows the day or the hour, but when you understand that Jesus who was a Jew, spoke to a Jewish audience, and made a statement pertaining to Jewish customs when He said "no man know the day nor the hour", you'll understand that He was first of all relating to a Jewish Wedding and secondly a Jewish Feast Day, thus TELLING us the season in which to expect His return.
I have a short video clip on my site at http://www.preparethebride.com/ about this, but in essence, Jesus was first of all referencing a Jewish Wedding Term.
Let me elaborate - In Jewish customs, the father (parents) arranges the marriage for the son. The son had to "go and prepare a place" for his bride and only when the father gave his approval to the prepared place, did the father release the son to "go get" his bride.
The problem is if they wanted to make any arrangements like the calendar, bookings, RSVP's etc. they had a problem as to the wedding date. When asking the young man when his wedding was, he would always reply - "only my father knows" because the father was the only one who knew the date he would release his son to go get his bride.
So this statement by Jesus was referring to HIS future wedding date that only His father knew off.
Second, the Jews celebrate a holy feast known as the Feast Of Trumpets - This is celebrated on the NEW MOON on the first day of the seventh month of Tishiri on the Jewish Calendar.
This feast is synonymous with the rapture event, and the very name of the feast says what it's all about - it's about the blowing of trumpets.
Not only that - 1 Thess 4 vs 16-18 and 1 Cor 15:51-53 talks about a LAST TRUMP being blown and then describes the rapture event in the same passage.
In the Jewish Wedding Custom, when the bridegroom was ready to go get his bride, it was always announced with the blow of a trumpet - known as the last trump.
The first trump was blown after the bridegroom gave his bride a betrothal contract, and only if she accepted his proposition.
The last trump was blown when she was "carried away" at night by her groom and his entourage, which also included 10 virgins which carried tall poles with oil lamps on top - that's where you get the parable of the 10 virgins from.
Incidentally while writing this comment, I just heard cars outside my home sounding their horns... because of a wedding being celebrated... (Wow...)
The horns/trumpet/ shofar is used to announce a wedding! Maybe you have the same custom (of blowing your cars horns) in your country, but it seems this not something knew!
To further explain the term no man knows the day or the hour - because the Feast Of Trumpets are celebrated on the NEW MOON, it means two witnesses had to go and and see when the first sliver of the moon would become visible.
Once they spotted the first little sliver of the moon, they knew it was time to start the feast. They would then make fires on the mountains to let all the Jews know to start observing the feast, but because the Jewish day starts at sunset, and because most people (just like we do) sleep at night, most Jews were not aware the feast had started until the next day.
That meant the feast could fall on either one or the other day of Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year). So this was literally a feast where NO MAN KNEW THE DAY OR THE HOUR when the feast would start.
So when Jesus was saying you won't know the day or the hour, He was identifying the exact Jewish Fest he would return on.
The parable of the fig tree also captures the essence of knowing the season. The word season in Hebrew is Mo-Ade and it means a divine appointment, as well a feast day.
So Jesus was saying you must know the divine appointment on the appointed feast (Lev 23)
Now it becomes clear why Paul said in 1 Thess 5 "but ye brethren are not in darkness that this day should overtake you as a thief in the night --- because you know the divine appointment and the feast!
When ever it says He comes as a thief in the night, look at who he is directing this statement and you'll find he is NOT talking to everyone. He is making that statement to those who are NOT watching.
Matt 25 is a classical example of this where we see the 5 wise virgins enter into the marriage supper of the lamb (the event after the rapture), and scripture says after they entered, the door was SHUT - Then the other 5 foolish virgins came knocking and he then says to THEM (the foolish virgins) - watch YE therefore, for I will come upon YOU as a thief in the night if you do not watch.
He's not directing that statement to the wise - they were already inside -- he's talking to the foolish virgins.
Jesus fulfilled ALL of the Spring Festivals of the Jews (Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits and Pentecost) TO THE DAY and He'll fulfill ALL the FALL festivals to the day, with the next feast to prophetically be fulfilled being the feast of trumpets!
This study is a lengthy but very interesting one, and we have captured some very surprising facts concerning the rapture in this 3H 45Min DVD at http://www.preparethebride.com/
I can't wait to kiss the feet my Lord and savior Jesus Christ, and just to tell how much I LOVE HIM and how much I appreciate what He has done on the cross of calvary!
Now is the time to serve Him even more and to witness your socks off! and if you don't know Jesus, Boy do you ever wanna hurry to get your affairs in order!

Great insight on the generation and on the sabatical years and year of Jubilee. If I may encourage you and others to observe these timelines through the biblical calender (360 day's to a year) as well as the Jewish feasts and traditions. I believe that Jesus has left us not just clues, but actual seasons as to when He will rapture His bride and His actual second coming to earth. These can be understood through the Feasts of the LORD (Leviticus 23) and the Jewish Wedding.
What's interesting about looking at timelines through the biblical lense is that if you take the date that Israel (the fig tree) regained the city of Jerusalem (the branch) June 7, 1967, and then you fast forward into history using the sabatical years (7x7=49 / 49x360 days=17,640 days) you come to September 23, 2015. Looking at this date on our Gregorian Calender, this date has no significance. However, if you look on the Jewish Calender, this date is in fact non other than the "Day of Atonement". The day that according to the LORD in Leviticus 25:8-10, is to be hearalded by the blowing of trumpets and the proclaimation of liberty throughout the land and to all it's inhabitants, and to start the year of Jubilee. If this is true, then why hasnt the rapture of the church not occured yet? Could this be a false doctrine? Far be it. I believe that the rapture is in fact a sound biblical doctrine, and the reason that it has not occured yet is that "God is not willing that any perish, but that ALL would come to repentance" - 2 Peter 3:8-9.
Looking closely at what the Messiah said that "No one knows the day or the hour" we can understand what He really meant. Jesus Himself was a Jew, His disciples and closest followers were also Jews, so if we look at this teaching through Jewish lenses we can understand what He meant. This relates back to the Feasts of the LORD, because the Messiah has to fulfill all of these Feasts to prove that He is the Messiah. Jesus did fulfill the first 4 Feasts in His first coming to earth (Passover / Unleavened Bread / First fruits / Pentecost). He not only fulfilled them, but He did it on the very day that the Feasts were being observed during those days. The next three Feasts are the Feast of Trumpets (rapture), the Day of Atonement (His second coming) and the Feast of Tabernacles (His Kingdom set up on earth as it is in Heaven). The next Feast on the list to be fulfilled is the Feast of Trumpets (rapture). This is the only Feast of the seven that is observed on the first day of the month. So because the Jewish Calender is a lunar calender, they operate according to the New Moon. If you look at the phases of the moon, there is a period of about 2.5 to 3.5 days where the moon cannot be seen by the naked eye. This is known as the hidden moon. So the Jews would set two witnesses to watch for the appearing of the new moon. When the witnesses saw the signing of the new moon they were to blow the trumpets to alert the people that the start of the New Year had begun. However, in the dispersion to Babylon and after the destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD, the Jews could not know the time of the new moon because they could not know when the sounding of the trumpets were. So those is Jerusalem would light the mountains on fire to let those in the dispersion know that the New Year had already begun, but of that day and hour, the ones in the dispersion wouldnt know the exact time.
This teaching also relates to the Jewish wedding, in that only the father of the bridegroom knows what day the wedding will commence. Is this not what Jesus said, that only the Father knows. If this were true and Jesus being God (what we as Christians believe) doesnt know, then how can that be? Because God is all knowing. Jesus did know the time, but He was pointing to His disciples to understand the coming of His kingdom through the practices of the Jewish wedding. Which one of it's practices was the "catching away" of the bride, and the wedding feast which would last about 7 days.
So where does 2010 fit in to this timeline? I believe that we could find it in the story of Joseph and his brothers in Genesis 45. Joseph tells his brothers that there are five years left in the famine in versus 6 and 11. Remember that when the Lord speaks a matter twice, it is something for us to really consider. Also, because the final 7 years of tribulation is known as the time of Jacobs trouble, why wouldnt this story fit in as well. After all this was the first time of Jabobs trouble when his people were facing anihilation from the famine. The next and last time will be anihilation from the antichrist.
So if in fact the September 23, 2015 is a candidate for the second coming, 5 years prior would bring us to the Feast of Trumpets 2010. Daniels 70 weeks is the key to the Messiahs first and second coming. He gives a break of 7 and 62. If the 7 is related to Jerusalem and the sabbatical years till the year of Jubilee then were does the 62 fit in. Could it be that during the 62nd year of Israel's rebirth, Jesus the Messiah raptures His bride and reveals Himself to the Jews (His brothers). Maranatha!!!
@Kimo I'm in agreement with this article on how 7 is a number of Completion and Perfection in God's Holy Plan, how our Lord's Feasts, being 7, partake in the fulfillment of His salvation for you and me. How I wish you wouldn't use that break of 7weeks and 62weeks the way you have. I actually prayed to God to reveal to me why it isn't a direct 69weeks, and I feel the Holy Spirit led me to the truth that it's because when God's word speaks of a period of time of weeks greater than 7, the basic unit of 7 is simply factored out; such that 69 becomes 7 and 62, while 68 would be 7 and 61, even though in essence, it's a total of 69weeks i.e 483years. The Historical Fulfilllment of this prophecy testifies to the truth of this i.e 445/444 B.C - 32/33 A.D. Otherwise the 7 and 62 SHOULD NOT be brought forward and added to 1948 A.D but rather be blessed by this article in the first place.
I'm of the conviction that between the rapture of the Bride of my Lord and the strengthening of a 7year peace Covenant, there will be a space of time in which the Gog/Magog war of Ezekiel 38/39 will take place and the fulfillment of the Feast of Trumpets will be the making of the covenant, and not necessarily the rapture, such that indeed, we know not the day nor the hour. For this reason, Feast of Trumpets 2010 is also a reasonable deadline BUT even so, I have NOT set a date!
Come, my Lord JESUS!!! I do not belong to this world!
Greetings Paul and to all, I agree with 2010. I see you are a researcher, so what I will give you should be welcomed. I enjoyed your research; we can always find new information, even when we think there could not be any more to learn (of any great significance). It appears you have not learned of the fulfillment of the fall feast days of the Lord. The spring feasts were fulfilled by Christ at His first Coming. The fall feasts will be fulfilled by His Second Coming.... So if we know the year... we can narrow down the day significantly. Enjoy: www.conditionalsalvation.com/rapture_2010

From Matthew 24
And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come
From Revelation 7
After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, saying, Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!
I don't believe the end of the world is going to happen yet, we are towards the end but not there, because all of the world hasn't heard the gospel yet.
Jesus said in the first part of Matthew 24 that all the nations must hear the gospel first and then the end will come and this is backed up by Revelation 7 which describes the multitude as being from all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues. So again, everyone from the ends of the earth must hear the word first before the end.

I have my own ideas about Bible prophecy and I have done some calculations. I have seen prophecies fulfilled though mostly unknown and I have my own predictions. I will say something biblical will definitely happen on September 17 2010 the Day of Atonement. I say this because I believe I am right about something though I cannot say because as the following verse states: (Amos 3:7) Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. After the date occurs and if I am right I may put more information up here, but until then all I can do is speculate for now. That or I will put information on my own web site. God has his significant events and days and an exact schedual but I fear GOD so I won't venture to say what exactly it is. I write this so as to give others hope that there is a promised and expected end and one where life will be restored to beyond our wildest imagination. If you are unsure about Christianity I assure you there is only one way and that is Jesus and his grace is sufficient for you. Just remember GOD is love and he loves you. Today is the day of salvation so do not put off today for you don't know what tomorrow will bring. AMEN
I believe in a pre-trib rapture. And I respect your study of the Scripture. However, at the beginning of this website, you said you were in no way trying to predict a date of the rapture yet you throw out a few different dates. That's my issue with all these people studying the end times- absolutely we need to study them but everyone keeps saying how they're not trying to predict when the Rapture will happen yet at some point, they start throwing dates around- you need to be very careful when doing that because if non believers read this and the date passes in their eyes, that will discredit you.
