Evolution Defined
Evolution: Change in the genetic composition of a population during successive generations, as a result of natural selection acting on the genetic variation among individuals, and resulting in the development of new species.
Evolutionary Process: 'In biology, evolution is change in the inherited traits of a population of organisms from one generation to the next. These changes are caused by a combination of three main processes: variation, reproduction, and selection. Genes that are passed on to an organism's offspring produce the inherited traits that are the basis of evolution. These traits vary within populations, with organisms showing heritable differences in their traits. When organisms reproduce, their offspring may have new or altered traits. These new traits arise in two main ways: either from mutations in genes, or from the transfer of genes between populations and between species. In species that reproduce sexually, new combinations of genes are also produced by genetic recombination, which can increase variation between organisms. Evolution occurs when these heritable differences become more common or rare in a population.' (* read more)
Father of Evolution: Charles Darwin who in his 1859 published "On the Origin of Species", in which he details the theory of evolution by natural selection.
The Theory Evolution
There has been no other scientific theory which has gotten more attention or debate then the theory of evolution. Ironically, it is also the only modern scientific theory that has gone on with out prove since its conception for of over a century! Many like to treat it as a fact! Biologist are fast to get on their band wagon to proclaim it as a Fact! Yet it has never been proven as a fact! But the fact remains, it is not a fact! Ironically, it not only is not a fact, but it violates other scientific teachings that ARE facts! The biggest of these scientific facts is The Law of Thermodynamics.
The Law of Thermodynamics is made up of (3) main subordinate laws (Facts). The first law states that, "Energy can neither be created nor destroyed. It can only change forms." This law is no only a major law used in thermodynamics but in all other physics discipline sciences as well! Most inventions in the areas of chemistry, engineering, weather and yes, even biology use this law in resolving scientific questions, building new scientific hypotheses and developing new materials and goods. Basically, it informs us of molecular make up of everything that exist be it gas, liquid or solid. Matter can change state between these conditions, but matter can not be created (i.e. fabricated out of nothingness) or destroyed (i.e. disintegrated into nothingness). While this is not in direct disagreement with evolutionist theories, it does suggest that new forms of life have to be equal to the some of their parts when it comes to advancement. There can be no "new thing" created just a redistribution of atoms.
The Second Law of Thermodynamics states, "The entropy of an isolated system not in equilibrium will tend to increase over time, approaching a maximum value at equilibrium". Ok but what does this mean to you and me? It means that while the quantity of matter remains the same, the quality of matter vs. its energy (or loss of energy) deteriorates over time. Matter is made up of sub-atomic particles. These particles have tremendous energy which holds the atoms (matter) together. But as time goes on, matter is leaking out energy which becomes unusable. Thus matter deteriorates! A great example of this is radioactive matter. The kind that is used in nuclear bombs. You know what happens to the energy as it is released from a nuclear bomb right? KaPowiW! half the planet is gone! LOL. So according to the second law, everything deteriorates. Things go from best to ok, to fair, to not so good, to useless! Evolution states that things get better gradually while that is a contradiction of the second law of thermodynamics which says everything gets worst gradually! Which is Correct? The Law of Thermodynamics? Or the Theory of Evolution? (read more)
The Third Law of Thermodynamics basically teaches that matter can not reach absolute zero degrees. While it is not relevant to either Evolution or our discussion, I include it to be concise in my explanation of the laws of thermodynamics.
Conclusion: My kitten was never a dinosaur! She was always a cat and came from a long line of cats before her!
What the Bible says about Evolution: Believing The Lie!
Yes folks, the bible DOES talk about evolution but not by using that 19th century term! It explains why the theory has survived for over a century with no proof! It explains why biologist and other foolish individuals believe in such a hopeless theory! And it explains the outcome of those who doggedly hold fast to such a falsehood!
Ecclesiastes 1:4-10
One generation passes away, and another generation comes; But the earth abides forever. The sun also rises, and the sun goes down, And hastens to the place where it arose. The wind goes toward the south, And turns around to the north; The wind whirls about continually, And comes again on its circuit. All the rivers run into the sea, Yet the sea is not full; To the place from which the rivers come, There they return again. All things are full of labor; Man cannot express it. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, Nor the ear filled with hearing. That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done, And there is nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which it may be said
First we will look at these verses dealing with change in general. According to King Solomon, nothing ever changes. Things are always the same. He talks about constants in life that are unchangeable even as one generation dies off and a new generation is born to replace them. The earth is constant and still abides, He states that the sun rises and sets and rises again, The wind follows its seemingly ever changing patterns but even it
follows annual cycles and as it moves around the globe. He alludes to the law of gravity by declaring that rivers always move down stream (as pulled down hill by gravity) and empty into the sea, but the sea is never full. Instead we know that, due to evaporation dictated by the laws of thermodynamics, the sea is transformed into gas, rises and falls as rain again replenishing the rivers and the cycle continues (To the place from which the rivers come, There they return again). He also looks at mankind and even man never changes! Man is never satisfied with the things of life (eye is not satisfied with seeing) and man never ties of learning new things (Nor the ear filled with hearing) He summarizes with an unchangeability principle that goes against the theory of evolution, That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done, And there is nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which it may be said See, this is new? It has already been in ancient times before us."
2 Thessalonians 2: 1-12
Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Here we have a major prophesy about the last days and the mindset of people on the earth at that time. There are many good truths in this passage and as they don't all deal with evolution per say, we will look at a few of them. Why, because of the Multiple Fulfillment of Prophecy principle which demonstrates that prophesies have many manifestations or multiple targets in view. Each prophecy is addressed to the day and times in which it was given as well as the ultimate fulfillment in the future. It also involves the application of spiritual principles to many subjects and situations not specifically addressed directly.
First we need to consider the context. Paul the apostle was dealing with a lot of false theories in his day and time; even among Christians. This is such a case. The Christians of Thessalonica were being mislead into believing a lie about the Second Coming of Christ. There were false believers who were causing confusion among the young Christian faith by stating that the second coming of Christ had already occurred. As an apostle and leader of the baby church, Paul is clarifying the facts. He states "as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means" to comfort them.
He wanted them to be at peace and not anxious or confused as a result of being lied to. He inform them that this lie does not come from God and in fact all such liars would themselves be lied to by Him! He knew that they would understand this double talk as not literal, but as figuratively, as he chose his words carefully. He did not say that God would lie to them, but rather that God would send them "strong delusion" that they should believe the lie! God protects His children from lies! He hates lies! He IS Truth as is His Son Jesus, "the Way, the Truth and the Life" (see John 14:6). But Jesus called Satan the Father of Lies (see John 8:44)
Paul goes on to tell them what things would have to happen before the Second Coming of Christ:
- the falling away comes first - another double prophesy. The word translated falling away literally means to be snatched up and in that sense refers to the Rapture of the Church before Jesus comes back. But here it also refers to the declining power and influence of the church in the last days. People would literally be falling away from church, truth, and God in the last days (i.e.
Don't say Merry Christmas, say Happy Holidays).
- the man of sin is revealed - the Anti-Christ comes to power! He will be a world leader who is totally possessed by Satan as Judas was when he betrayed Jesus!
- the son of perdition - another name for the son of Satan; the Anti-Christ.
- who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped - Satan, in the body of a human will set himself up as the disprover of God's existence and mankind's supremacy. Satan has been doing this since the Garden of Eden! He influences man to not believe in God, but to believe in mankind as supreme in ruling the world. He does that via lies that we choose to believe as opposed to truth that we choose to discredit. Evolution vs. Creationism! (see: John 8:44; 1 John 5:19; 1 John 2:22)
- with all unrighteous deception among those who perish - Satan, as the Father of Lies, is very good at deceiving mankind to believe in fables (evolution) as opposed to truth (God).
- for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness - Here we see the ultimate conclusion: God is actually sending mankind strong delusions (dinosaur bones, fossils, partially decayed ratio active matter which gives incorrect dating of fossil records) to believe The Lie (Evolution). Why you ask, "that they all may be condemned"!
John 8:44
You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it
Here Jesus identifies the true nature of Satan - The Father of Lies! He has been instrumental in turning people away from God and the Truth by injecting lies, false theories and false explanations for things which we do not understand. God, on the hand, expects us to follow Faith in what He says is True and not follow fables which contradict the very laws of the universe He Created! |
Summary
We are being
warned! God is showing us what His purpose for this
world entails. As we get closer and closer to the end,
the world has become more and more sinful! And
unfortunately, this condition will worsen till He
returns and redeems us from ourselves. Don't let sin,
self or Satan who has invaded our planet separate you
from the free gift of salvation that Jesus extends to
you in His invitation to be born-again:
For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not
perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send
His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that
the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes
in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe
is condemned already, because he has not believed in
the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:16-18)
