Our Hateful Society:

What the Bible says about people in the last days:

• lovers of themselves - selfish; self-centered; without compassion for empathy for others. Their primary concern is "what's in it for me" when facing any event in life.


• lovers of money - greedy; covetous; hoarder's of wealth. they are characterized as people who are after the "ole' mighty dollar". Their main demand for their time, talent or assistance is "show me the money"!


• boasters - braggers; show offs. They love to take credit for things they do and some things someone else did as well! Their charity is for show only and if their is no glory in an action then they shake it off saying, "it is not my thing"!


• proud - egotistical; self-centered. While pride is not always a bad thing if accomplishments are taken with gratitude for recognition and thankfulness for contributors, this group is totally consumed with themselves. They are prideful, overwhelming with the stuff! This group's favorite quote, "who's your daddy?".


• blasphemers - disrespectful of God, His name and His Possessions; Atheist mindset that hates anything to do with God; They love to "take the Lord's name in vain"! Others in this group, just ignore God and believe, "their in charge of their own destiny". This group's favorite quote: "---- ---"; you can fill in the blanks I'm sure!


• disobedient to parents - This self-defining adjective is displayed rampantly in our day & time! Just visit any school or daycare when parents pickup or drop off their children. This is because it is easy to see in a child's behavior and speech, but for adults, it is much less obvious to detect. To see it in adults, just visit some nursing homes at visitation time. Or watch the battles of adult children in inheritance courts across the nations while bearing in mind that most of these people have not even visited their elderly parents in years!


• unthankful - This is another self-defined adjective. How can these people ever be thankful when they perceive themselves as the source of all good things! Whatever anyone gives to them is perceived as "their due". Count how many people say thank you to you when you do a small favor for them. Oh, you may get a thank you if you hold a door for some folks, but that is usually just to avoid embarrassment or conformism from these types of folks.


• unholy -ungodly; evil natured; cruel hearted. While not all of these individuals are out right God haters, they all are evil hearted and cruel in their dealings with anyone who is the opposite: pure in heart.(see blasphemers)


• unloving - Without love, empathy and compassion for others. The only exception to this is their love for self!


• unforgiving - This is another self-defined adjective. What ever you do, do not piss this person off! These folks can hold a grudge for years, decades or even in some cases, their entire life! Not only are they incapable of forgiving others, they are beyond reach of God's forgiveness because they are too perfect to need forgiveness. That said, God can definitely break them down if He chooses to do so!


• slanderers - defamers of other people; gossipers; back-stabbers; aside from your everyday garden variety, the biggest organized group of these folks are political candidates. But, as go the people, so do the leaders! Actually, the leaders will display many of these categories listed here as they "represent the people"!


• without self-control - undisciplined; untrained; This characteristic is the major contributing factor for all the rest of these psychological sicknesses. Ironically, as psychologist have promoted that we do not spank our children, and parents gave in to that falsehood, this trait has skyrocketed; spreading like a brush fire in California! NOTE: This is an adult child issue, not just children only! It includes, but is not limited to, loud, obnoxious, socially inapt people.


• brutal - violent; hostile; inflicting pain on others; cruel; The pain inflicted many times is hidden under a mask of deception and is not always apparent at face view. But in these instances, the target knows he / she has been victimized! Both the physical and emotional attacks of these folks is extremely prolific in our current martial relationships and has caused irreparable damage to many a child of these "homes". Brutality is a major factor in rape, homicide and kidnapping.


• despisers of good - This is another self-defined adjective. I am writing this blog on Christmas Day 2008 and with that in mind, here is a good example of this trait as it is a commandment from these type of people: "Don't say 'Merry Christmas' say 'Happy Holidays'"! Well I would like to wish a Merry Christmas to them too, after all, it is Jesus' Birthday!


• traitors - back-stabbers; one who turns against a friend, country or other group of trusted alliances. We have a name for small infractions by this type of person, "two-faced". But whether, small or great, the sin is the same!


• headstrong - habitually disposed to disobedience and opposition; self-willed; willful. This serves as a reminder to me to be on guard against this trait in my own life. I tend to fail here myself as it is a weakness of many strong-willed individuals of which I am. Lord forgive me for being headstrong and help me (and my readers) to avoid all of these sins.


• haughty - having or showing excessive pride or arrogance; These people think they have all the answers. They are fast to assert themselves with all knowing (but faulty) wisdom. This is another sin I tend to do. When my heart and mind is not in tune with my Lord's, arrogance and pride are my normal personality flaws. People who have higher than normal IQs need to be on guard against being haughty, "pushy", arrogant, headstrong and self-centered.
  
  NOTE: God made us all different, so we will all tend to fail in certain groups of these negative things more than other groupings. It is good to learn from these as you evaluate your own placement in this list. Just remember that they ARE sins!


• lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God - In our day and time we are bombarded with stimuli to indulge in pleasures. From the desire to be entertained (TV, Movies) to the desire for physical gratification (food, warmth, sex), we are constantly tempted to focalize our wants on these things. The sin comes when we make these things are biggest goals at the neglect of spiritual goals. We should enjoy these things within the guidelines God has established while thanking God for them as their source. He has given all things to us for us to enjoy in life. But we must acknowledge Him with a grateful heart for all of His provisions. We need to love God and enjoy life, not love life and ignore God!


• having a form of godliness but denying its power - We were originally created by God in His likeness. We were created as spiritual beings with a body, soul (mind, emotions & will) AND spirit (inspiration, worship & kinderdship)! If we do not feed one of these parts of our being, we suffer the consequences of their demise. Neglect the body and die of sickness, hunger or thirst. Neglect the soul: mind, emotions & will, and suffer from the inability to read, reason or write. We suffer depression, anger, hatred and these others will rob you of peace and joy and love. Neglect the spirit and reap everlasting isolation, inability to change your life and lose the ability to truly share with them through inspiration, and faith! Most people neglect the spirit, "denying its power"!


• And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. - Wow, what an indictment! Sad thing is we even had a president who falls into this category and him blatantly doing things as appalling as these right in the Oval Office! But this verse goes way beyond sexual sins for pleasure. It implies that these hungers and selfish desires actually stops people from coming to "to the knowledge of the truth" (i.e. salvation of body, soul & spirit)!


• these also resist the truth - This group of individuals who are consumed with these sins, hate God, the church and Christiens! They do not want to hear it! Favorite Quotes: "don't preach to me", "the bible is a fairy tale for week-minder people" and "there is no God"!

1. The Bible's Origin - It is a "Book of Books" that has God as their author. He wrote all the words down as He inspired (literally: God Breathed) the 40+ writers with His words! They were only stenographers in a sense.


2. The Bible's Profitability - It is God's Words given to you with Power to: educate (doctrine), combat lies and falsehoods (reprove), correct misconceptions (correction) and give you a full and meaningful life (instruct in righteousness)!


3. The Bible's Result - Discipline (thoroughly equipped) for every good work! Just as a PhD from a major university disciplines one for a successful career, so the bible disciplines one for a successful life!
